Hon Rebecca Yeboah, District Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya North has kick-started the construction of mechanized boreholes within markets located at Asuofua, Esaso and Barekese communities.
Source of funding for the project are the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and Resource Factor Grant. Per the model, a 10,000-liter polytank will be installed on each facility and the cost of each mechanized borehole stands at GHs33,000.
The project has been awarded to Osei and Haruna Construction Ltd. It is expected to be completed within two months.
A ground breaking ceremony was held at Asuofua to mark the commencement of construction.
At the event, Hon Rebecca Yeboah who is affectionately referred to as “Amansanboafo” underlined that government is committed towards improving the welfare of people hence the provision of clean water for the three communities.
“Since water is life, government and for that matter President is determined to ensure that every citizen gains access to clean water”, she said.
At the event, she updated residents on the covid-19 situation in the district. She sensitized that so far 13 positive cases have been recorded with 7 recoveries.
She underlined that victims who have not recovered are still on isolation receiving treatment.
She therefore cautioned residents to adhere to all the safety health protocols so as to save the district from any possible upsurge in the number of confirmed cases.
