Officials of the No Business As Usual (NBU) Project on 17th April 2021 gave vocational skills training to close to 20 female youth of Asokore Mampong Municipality.
It was purely a practical training which focused on the preparation of liquid soap, assorted fruit juice and fresh yoghurt.
The aim was to equip them with the professional know-how so that through the acquired knowledge and skills, they will be able to start their own business or better still have it as an alternative source of income generation to support themselves and their family.
Youth Coach for the project Abdul Manaf underscored the move as part of NBU’s core mandate i.e providing Entrepreneurship and Employability training for youth within the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
He said officials of the project are poised towards ensuring that soft skills are given to the youth to make them more employable and ready to start their own business, hence the holding of the training.
A beneficiary of the training who is an unemployed graduate Abdul Razak Rukaya shared in an interview that with the skills acquired, she can start a business and support herself instead of staying idle.
Facilitator Hamida Arhin, a full-time manufacturer of liquid soap after training participants on how to produce liquid soap advised them to take the lesson serious, utilised them and make a living out of it.
