GAME OVER: Angry contractors swear to vote out NPP over unpaid debt

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is likely suffer a massive blow in the soon coming 2020 general elections due to the leadership’s blatant failure to address pressing concerns of some peeved Ghanaians.

On Sunday, customers of collapsed MENZGOLD at the full glare of the public declared their support for the opposition party NDC , premised on the NPP’s refusal to retrieve and pay them their locked up investments.

Interestingly, close to over 200 contractors have also sworn heaven and Earth to vote massively against NPP in the upcoming elections because the latter has until now refused to facilitate the payment of their respective contractual sums on projects awarded them by the Ghana First Company Limited.

The were contracted by the company to build ultramodern toilet facilities across the country which are 80 percent completed.

According to them,Ghana First Company limited collaborated with the various MMDCEs to award the contract the them.

The content of a press statement copied to the office of www.leakynews.net indicates that after completion of projects, efforts by them to retrieve monies owed them have proved futile.

Meanwhile, “Vice President Mahmud Bawumia has claimed credit for a number of our projects in his infrastructure tracker.”, the statement disclosed.

Aggrieved contractors are of the suspicion that the NPP government is in bed with Ghana First Company Limited “if not, how can the company threaten to sue a whole government if it pays the aggrieved contractors”.

Premised on the foregoing, they have advised themselves by expressing their displeasure by way of voting against the ruling party in the upcoming elections.

To the Media,
PRESS RELEASE

We the members of New World Contractors
Association of Ghana, would want to put the following records across.

The association is made up of contractors who were contracted by Ghana First Company Limited to build ultramodern toilet facilities across the country.

We held a press conference on 29th September, 2020 to
announce our plight that we have not been paid a pesewa by the employer.

We further state that Ghana First Company collaborated with the various MMDCEs to award the
contracts.

In fact, it was the latter that provided the land with the assurance that the project has the
backing of the government.

Indeed, the Vice President, Dr. Mahmud Bawumia has claimed credit for a number of our projects in his infrastructure tracker.

However, efforts by contractors to retrieve monies owed us have proved futile.

We see that the government has remained insensitive to our plight.

The action of the government has made us believe that it is in bed with Ghana First Company, if not, how can the company threaten to sue a whole government if it pays the aggrieved contractors.

The communities where these projects are dotted are suffering because they do not have places of convenience as the existing ones were raised down for our projects.

How can sanitation be enhanced with this cruel stance adopted by both the government and the Ghana First Company?
We therefore call on all our contractors, their families, workers and the beneficiary communities who are over 3,000 voters in number to advise themselves in the upcoming elections.

Our only hope is in God to grant us our wish. This government is very insensitive.

Long live New World Contractors Association!
Long live Ghana.
