Welcome home my great friend.
When I started to date someone older than me, it appeared the comments and questions were never-ending.
“What could you possibly have in common?
Aren’t you at different points in your life? What is the age difference again?”
In fact these were just a few that I would constantly deal with.
The judgment and criticism that my husband and I got, especially in the beginning, was highly stressful.
It almost made me pull away from him, despite knowing that he was the perfect man for me.
Thankfully, the advantages of dating someone older were more clear to me than the noise.
They became even more evident as our relationship grew, and I could not be happier that I chose to spend my life with my man.
Below are some benefits of marrying one older than you;
1. They are More Mature:
They know the relevance of communication and are willing to talk things out.
They understand that relationships are about giving and taking, and they are even willing to accept fault when they are wrong.
2. They are More Responsible:
You do not have to worry that they are going to blow your life savings on something ridiculous or sign up for some crazy career path.
They have lived enough to know the roles of adulthood and accept their responsibility in your life together.
3. They are Stable:
They are beyond the point of trying to find their identity.
They know who they are and they are focused on the bigger picture.
When you are ready to start a family, they will be, too.
4. They Know What They Want:
Not only do they know who they are, they know exactly what they want.
They are not marrying you to see how it works out and aren’t into playing games.
They are confident they want to spend the rest of their life with you when they decide to ask for your hand.
5. They Have Already Sowed Their Wild Oats:
You do not have to worry that they are out looking for other people to date.
They know what they are looking for in a partner and are happy to have found it in you.
6. They Have More Life Experience:
You can trust their judgment. They have likely been in at least one long-term relationship, and these past successes and failures have helped shape who they’ve become.
They are probably willing to give you some advice along the way, too.
7. They Are Not Afraid of Intimacy:
Older partners make excellent lovers.
They have learned a thing or two about chemistry and physical connection through all those life experiences.
They will be as passionate about you with the doors closed as they are when they’re bragging about you to their friends.
8. There Is No Drama
With maturity comes growth, and they probably stay far away from petty drama. They’re looking to make memories, settle down, and build a future, and are much more likely to appreciate the important things in life.
9. They Have Got Old-Fashioned Values:
They know exactly how to sweep you off your feet and make you feel special. Older partners usually have old-fashioned values, like holding the door open for you, surprising you with flowers, and always reminding you that they love you.
10. They Also Appreciate the Finer Things in Life:
They will teach you to stop and enjoy the little things, like intimate dinner conversations, raw emotions, and a good walk on the beach. They’ll always encourage you to put your phone down and live in the moment.
Thank you so much for your time.
