ABN broadcast journalist Abena Saahena has donated food items to the Remar Ghana Christian Rehabilitation Centre at Patasi of the Kumasi Metropolis.
They included assorted soft drinks, cooking oil, bag of rice, packs of sachet water, tubers of yam, tinned tomatoes, toiletries among others.
Abena Saahene who is a staff and a star journalist for Angel Fm presented the items on… coincidentally with the celebration of her birthday.
The donation was preceded by a brief dinner with orphans of the rehabilitation Centre.
She told www.leakynews.net that her passion is driven towards assisting the vulnerable.
“I saw the need to support them because a good number of children are hard-pressed.
Most of them as a result have become street beggers as a way of make a living which shouldn’t be so”, she expressed.
She therefore called on institutions and individuals who are well to do to extend a hand to support such children.
