A/R: Education directorate receives PPEs for distribution to basic schools

The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service has received 8,216 Veronica buckets, 7047 thermometer guns, 16,432 pieces of bottled soap, 16432 pieces of tissue papers, and 148,575 pieces of sanitizers for onward distribution to all basic schools in the Region through the 43 Metropolitan/Municipal/ District Education Directorates.

Supply of these items are part of the measures government has put in place to control the spread of COVID 19 when JHS final year students reopen school on Monday 29th June, 2020.

Regional Director of GES, Ashanti Ms. Mary Owusu Afriyie urged all schools to follow laid down protocols to control the spread of the COVID 19.

According to the Regional Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service Mr. Mark Ofori who spoke to the media on behalf of the Directorate, he said GES Ashanti will intensify monitoring of all schools in the Region as part of measures the Directorate had instituted to support government’s war against the spread of the pandemic.

The items were received on Saturday 27th June, 2020 at the Regional Education Office, Amakom-Kumasi.
