A Kumasi-based business mogul cum philanthropist Isaac Kofi Agyemang Smart has errected a magnificent church edifice for the A.M.E Zion Church, Calvary Society at Pakyi No.1.
Price value of the facility runs a little over 5 billion old Ghana Cedis.
It was dedicated and handed over to the leadership of the church on Sunday 30th April 2023.
Construction of the church building is on record to be a fulfilment of a vow which the philanthropist made to God 25 years ago, representing a payback of how God elevated him from a poor background to a pedigree of opulence.
“I was nobody years ago. I grew up in a poor family and can perfectly recall how my mother, me and 7 siblings out of 11 struggled to live in a single room years ago.
At that poor state and challenging moment, I told God to help me to build my own house at least a single room.
I challenged God that should he bless me I will build for him a Temple.
Presently I own mansions and a litany of properties.
At age 38 I built my first house.
God has blessed me more than enough and this is the time to for me to fulfil my side of the bargain” he told this medium during the occasion.
The Church edifice was dedicated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe (Bishop-Western West Africa Episcopal District).
Delivering the sermon, Rev. Dr. Seth Frimpong Coleman (Bishop’s Deputy-Ghana Region) thanked him for offering himself up as Solomon to the Church.
Addressing the gathering, Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe called on God to fill the place with his blessings so that worshipers will find blessings anytime they enter the temple.
He urged the local heads and the congregants to exercise a culture of maintenance as they utilize the facility.
