Executives of Bawumia Fun Club caused a massive stir in Kumasi after making a public exhibition of a physical cash they have reserved for the payment of the fee on nomination forms for Vice President Dr. Bawumia.

Chairman for the group Eric Kwabena Twumasi Ankrah during a press briefing held on Monday 22nd May 2023 at the Kumasi Cultural center flagged in the air a bundle of GHs 200 notes, totalling GHs 50,000 (money for the forms) as an expression of the club’s readiness to foot the cost and pick the form on behalf of the Vice President.

He told the press that members and executives of the club have settled on moving to Accra on Wednesday 24th May 2023 to pick the nomination forms even before the official date (26th June 2023) which has been slated by the NEC of NPP.

When questioned on the source of the fund, the President said the money was tapped from the club’s accumulated dues paid by members.

“Dr. Bawumia has not given us any money to pay for his nomination forms”.

He explained that each member pays GHs 1.00 every week and that the club was formed 10 years ago, having 37 branches across the country.

“We have 7 representatives at every polling station in the country and all our members are delegates”, he added.

Giving reasons for their decision, Chairman Ankrah a.k.a “akoko” said that Vice President Dr. Bawumia is the only character who is fit for the Presidential candidate position.

“We have followed him for over ten years and considering his level of humility, vision for the party and country, and the stellar interventions, we are left with no other option than to throw our support behind him and show our love for him by paying for his nomination forms.”
