ABN’s broadcast journalist Gifty Abena Saahene, popular known as “International Abena Saahene” has donated over 250 sanitary pads to BECE candidates of four JHS Schools.
The gesture was an expression of her support to the girl- child and also formed part of her birthday celebration.
Beneficiary schools were Worapong D/A JHS, Worapong Islamic JHS, Adagya D/A JHS and Boahenkwaa D/A JHS in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency
Addressing the media, she lamented over the high prices of Sanitary pads, explaining that the had cost of the product makes it difficult for some girls to purchase when in their menstural period.
She therefore urged government to subsidize the price and also make it a tax free product.
